Coaching Process

Emily designs coaching programs to address many areas of personal and professional development. The following very briefly describes the process she uses:

Needs – Determine client needs, expectations, desired results.

Information – Gather and analyze information relevant to the issues to be addressed.

Results – Contract with client to create and implement development plan. Define goals and establish measurable results to achieve. Identify evaluation timeframes.

Development – Provide coaching through various tools, skills, concepts, strategies and practices to support development plan and goals.

Evaluation – Assess measurable results at scheduled intervals.

Many clients find that a six- to eighteen-month coaching program produces very measurable and lasting changes in their lives. While some new practices will yield results immediately, others will take time to develop.

Experts say that at least one hundred repetitions of a new learning will help to anchor it permanently. This means that if you want to learn how to thread a needle skillfully, you should practice threading a needle at least one hundred times. Translated to coaching, if you want to acquire a new skill or habit, you should take every opportunity to practice the new skills or habits relevant to the goals you want to achieve. Consistent practice helps to anchor new learning.
